Chuck Collins has been Chief Meteorologist at WEEK & WHOI since October of 2009 after making the jump from WMBD where he had been 23 years. Chuck has been a fixture in local radio and TV for 38 years. He started his radio career in Sullivan, Illinois and has worked at radio stations in Danville, Chillicothe, Pekin, Morton and Peoria before starting his career in TV weather in 1988.

Chuck grew up in Marquette Heights and has a radio/TV degree from Lake Land College in Mattoon and he’s a graduate of the Mississippi State University Broadcast Meteorology program. Chuck holds prestigious broadcasting seals of approval from the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. He’s a multiple winner of the Illinois Broadcaster’s Association “Silver Dome” award for best downstate television weather.

Chuck and his wife, Linda have been married 38 years and their son, Ian is a sophomore at Illinois Central College.
