Rose-Ann Aragon is a proud Midwestern Filipina-American reporter who is excited to call Peoria her new home. She earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Rose-Ann was a Bronze Tablet Scholar and graduated summa cum laude and in the top 3 percent of the university’s 2013 graduating class.
Before coming to Peoria, Rose-Ann was a reporter, anchor and producer for U of I’s UI-7 News and the Multimedia Director of IMPULSE magazine, a small lifestyle publication. She interned at the ABC and CBS affiliates in Champaign as well as for NBC in Chicago. Rose-Ann is a storyteller, and she is determined to serve the community by bringing it the latest.
In her spare time, Rose-Ann loves to learn, especially about different cultures including her own. She is an advocate for cultural diversity and community engagement. Last year, Rose-Ann co-coordinated the largest leadership development/community building Filipino-interest conference in the nation.
She speaks Italian, loves old school jazz and is only recently retiring as starting fullback in an all-girls football league.
Rose-Ann says she is honored to be a part of the WEEK/WHOI team and is excited to get to know the surrounding community.
