A benefit will be held in Washington this Saturday at Crossroads United Methodist Church and all day at Kep's to help pay tremendous hospital/medical bills for a very lengthy stay in the hospital. He has severe complications from Connective Tissue Disease and will be unable to go back to his job. His wife is the president of the not-for-profit Threads, Hope & Love in Washington that has been getting free clothing to several hundred people each month for the past 2 years. Don is still working with this NFP as her office assistant when he is able.
There will be food, entertainment, a live and silent auction, bake sale and much much more. Items in the live auction include a Peoria Charter Coach trip to a Cubs/Cards game, box tickets for the Peoria Chiefs, a $400 Giant Bicycle from Russells, a handmade quilt, $425 portrait setting from Photography by Lee and many other big ticket items. The silent auction includes many gift baskets containing merchandise and gift certificates for local businesses in the Washington/ Eureka area.
