As part of our Eagle Days Festival, we are holding our 1st Annual Eagle Plunge into the frigid waters of the Illinois River! Proceeds will be used for a new Eagle Flight Cage for injured eagles at the Illinois Raptor Center, and also to support Nature Programs at HavanaNature Center!

Any one who is in good health may participate. Plungers under the age of 18 years must have a parent/guardian presentand written consent signed by parent/guardian.

Plungers must be in good health; no one with heart disease may participate. Medical personnel and an ambulance will be onsite. Mason County Dive and RescueSquad will also be present. Warming facilities will be nearby.

Plunging iseasy! There is no pressure to fullysubmerge. We leave that up to you! You may choose to go all the way under, while others may just dip their big toe!

Too ChickenTo Plunge? You may still enjoy the fun! Register as a 2C2P (Too Chicken toPlunge), raise pledges just like a regular plunger, except you don’t have toenter the icy water. You may alsovolunteer if you’re 2C2P!

Bring your Eagletto Plunge! Kids ages 2-5 years old mayparticipate with a special Plunge – a barefoot walk through the baby pool! Cost is $5, and registration isrequired. The Eaglet Plunge will takeplace at 1:00 PM at the Havana Nature Center. We hope that many children will want to “Show us their Toes”!

Cost is $50/person. Make the Plunge even more fun by registering as a team! Teams of 4 = $150 and teamsof 8 = $275. All plungers will receive a long-sleeve T-shirt.

Plungers may wish to obtain sponsors for their Plunge.

A heated shelter area will be provided for changing clothes. It is located near the Plunge Zone. You should bring a bag for your wet clothesand warm, dry clothes for after the Plunge.

Bring your family members and friends to watch your Plunge and to help you afterwards byholding a warm robe and blankets! There is no charge to watch the Plunge.

A photographer will capture the Plunge, and photos may be purchased through the Park District.

You may register at the Park District Office (200 S. McKinley Street, Havana IL 62644)before February 10th or at the Havana Nature Center (416 N. SchraderStreet, Havana) on the day of the Plunge from 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM. Please call the Park Office (309-543-6240) orthe Nature Center (309-543-1031) for complete details.

Registration fees are non-refundable. Please register early!
