This month's selection: The Book Thief.

This beautifully written, groundbreaking novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living in World War II Germany. She develops a love of stolen books and learns to read them from her accordion-playing foster father. At the same time, she's forming an unlikely friendship with the Jewish man her family has hidden in the basement.
