On Friday, June 14, Impulse presents Impulse on "Tap: Myth and Magic," a concert of three new works based on myths and folklore from around the world: "Persephone," "Nimué," and "The Moss Green Princess." All three works fuse tap with modern dance, and use music, storytelling and performance traditions from ancient Greece, Renaissance England, and Swaziland. "Persephone" tells the touching tale of a Greek goddess kidnapped by Hades and taken to the Underworld, leaving the earth in perpetual winter. She is allowed to return to Earth every year to visit her mother, and her return restores spring to the world. "Nimué" is about the mysterious enchantress who imprisons the wizard Merlin in the legend of King Arthur. "The Moss-Green Princess" is a version of the Cinderella story from Swaziland in South Africa.

There will be a free reception for the audience following the performance. Appropriate for all ages. The Attractive Alternative is wheelchair accessible.

Tickets are $8.00 for adults, $5.00 for children under 12 and seniors.
