The National Wild Turkey Federation was started in 1973 with a mission to conserve Wild Turkey habitat and preserve America’s hunting heritage. Conserving Wild Turkey habitat not only affects the Wild Turkey but hundreds of other game and non-game species that use our upland and woodland habitats.
The NWTF in Illinois has committed to an 8:1 match rate on all monies raised through our local chapters. The Illinois River Watershed is a national focal landscape for the NWTF, marked as an area of vital importance for the next 10 years. Our work in the Peoria area promises to make a difference not only for wild turkeys and turkey hunters but for all species and hunters.
