METAMORA, Ill. -- A Metamora man, who was supposed to participate in opening day ceremonies at Wrigley Field, will get a second chance later this season.
Louie Reinhart celebrated his 100th birthday last month and was invited by the Cubs to be part of the team's opening day first-pitch ceremony on April 4.
Louie's birthday coincides with the 100th anniversary of Wrigley Field.
However, when Reinhart and his family got to the ballpark that day he was left out of the festivities.
According to a staff member at the retirement community where Reinhart lives, the Cubs have invited him back to take part in another game this summer.
His family hasn't decided yet whether or not to accept the invitation.
