PEORIA, Ill. -- The Peoria Riverfront Museum is bringing some weird science to central Illinois…believe it or not.

The museum unveiled their new 'Ripley’s Believe It or Not' exhibit on Thursday morning.

Visitors can crawl, sit and play in the interactive exhibit. A popular Ripley's item is on display at the museum, the shrunken heads.

The museum’s CEO says in today's world, hands-on learning can be the most exciting.

"We live in a time where we just have tremendous levels of access to information through media through internet through all kinds of formats,” said Sam Gappmayer. “To have that experience of seeing something immediately without the inter-mediation of a screen is a different and very positive kind of experience.”

The exhibit is scheduled to officially open on Saturday, and run through September 7.
