PEORIA, Ill. -- One local hospital donated big bucks in honor of National Doctors Day

Kindred Hospital of Peoria has given $1,000 to the South Side Mission.

Kindred donated the check Thursday in order to recognize National Doctors' Day, which is Saturday, March 30.

This is the 3rd year in a row that the hospital has donated to the Mission.

"It's been one of those relationships that has just grown over the years," said Ted Paarlberg, CEO of Kindred Hospital Peoria. "We have enough people that come through our doors that are also recipients of services there. So it's just a good match.

South Side Mission plans to use the money to expand their job training programs and start a teen ministry.
