Families with young children are always looking for a meal–deal.

Eric Shangraw tries out the Tuesday night party at Bennigan's, in this week's You Gotta Eat.

From the outside, it looks like just another night at Bennigan's... but its' not.
It's a Tuesday evening, and inside there's a party going on.

"Let's walk him on his tail, just like at Sea World."

The party may seem a little raucous for those not used to little children... but there is a touch of marketing genius going on.
Just ask a seven year old who is caught up in the construction of a balloon creation or has a Martian wrapped around their head.

It is kids eat free and the balloon guy and face painter come.

Kids eat free is a big night for us. Obviously we want to develop brand–loyalty with the kids and the children that come in. On Tuesdays when children come in with an adult we give them a free meal.

Guest eater and photographer Jeff Bennett ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. –Crispy fried chicken breast tossed with buffalo sauce and served with blue–cheese dressing on a bun. He said each bite had a nice flavor kick. I ordered a new item on the menu: Irish Pot Roast. Its' loaded with tender cuts of meat, grilled onions, celery, carrots and red–skinned potatoes. You'll want a spoon to slurp up the peppery broth. –Absolutely wonderful.
Our bill with drinks: 24–dollars plus tip. Jeff is single with no kids... and says he now knows when to not go to Bennigan's. But if you're a young family... here's another way to save a buck. Eric Shangraw News 25.

Bennigan's has locations in Peoria and Normal.
Both restaurants cater to the kids on Tuesday nights'.
The kids deal run from four until ten p–m.
