There's a new diner in Dunlap with a nice family atmosphere.

Eric Shangraw is having lunch at Jane's Ice–Box in this week's You Gotta Eat.

Jane's Ice Box is officially the only full service restaurant offering breakfast, lunch and dinner in Dunlap. Jane is Rhea Jackson. Her middle name is Jane. And "Ice Box" is her fiancée. Chris Icenogle is a veteran of the Peoria restaurant and bar business... together they opened their family friendly restaurant three months ago.

"It is upbeat. Family oriented." This has just a great atmosphere, says Icenogle.

Customer Marianne Mallof says, "It is a 1950's motif. They've got great fries and burgers. But fortunately for me, they have salad. I won't go any place without a salad."

Another young customer says she likes the French fries.

The French fries are batter dipped and extra crispy. This is Brad Barnett. He's the new morning show producer in our newsroom and is will soon be working for Garry Moore's morning show soon. Brad ordered the Supreme Steak burger basket. Brad says he's a tough hamburger critic, but decided this one was very filling and just fine from a small town diner. Warren Brinegar, our photographer, had the Ribeye Steak Sandwich. Warren says its' hard to go wrong with tender chunks of steak on bread. I had the most popular menu item: the homemade tenderloin. I needed a knife for my culinary attack.. and by the time I nibbled and widdled the sandwich down to a manageable size... I was full. The owner insisted we try his Nacho Dessert.... Ice cream on nacho chips! Not my thing, but the young guys dived in like kids at the candy store. With drinks our bill, 27–dollars plus tip. Jane's Ice Box seems to be a darn good dining addition to Dunlap. Eric Shangraw, News 25.

Jane's Ice Box is on North First Street in Dunlap. They are open seven days a week. The walk–up ice–cream stand window is open one hour after the restaurant closes.
