GERMANTOWN HILLS, Ill -- Michael's Italian Feast is located on Upper Ten Mile Creek Road in Germantown Hills. It's one of three Michael's in the Peoria area...and just last year was expanded and given a facelift.

"Last year we doubled the size of the kitchen and the dining area, so we're twice the size we were," says owner Mike Axelson.

The new dining area is designed to suggest an outdoor piazza in Italy. Complete with a tree, blue skies above, a fountain in the center of the square and a balcony.

"Yeah, we had to talk with the insurance company about that" jokes Axelson.

It's all very tranquil...

At Michael's, you order from the window -- carry-out and done-in alike.

Mike had recommended the lasagna, so I was all for that. Photographer Larry Faulk was disappointed because he wanted the lasagna, but manned up and ordered the Fettuchini Chicken Alfredo.

A tossed salad and garlic bread came with the dinners...the salad crisp, the bread was fresh, hot, sweet, and garlicky.

The Lasagna didn't disappoint either.

This is big Italian eats: tasty pasta with four kinds of cheese covered with a meat sauce.

Larry must have liked his Chicken Alfredo, because he finished it...all. And his salad.

It felt very European, two guys finishing off a meal outside in the town square under the open sky, Never mind that it was 37 degrees outside.

Our bill, with two soft drinks, came to $25.38.

All three Michael's Italian Feast Restaurants are open 10:30 daily.
