PEORIA, Ill. -- You'll find Rasoi at 7815 North Knoxville in the Mount Hawley Court Shopping Center.

The warm, inviting atmosphere encourages customers to live the good life through a game of pool and of course, food.

"It's very authentic and delicious indian food," said customer Joshua Mason. "It's a buffet for lunch so you can fill up with quite a bit of food."

"It's bursting with flavor and every bite you take," said customer Tammy Roozenboom. "So many great curry's, gingers and wonderful seasonings they put in their food. Its delicious."

Rasoi means kitchen and not every Indian dish cooked fresh is spicy.

"A lot of dishes we can make it mild," said co-owner Jimmy Varkey. "The mild doesn't mean it's so bland, it still has flavor in it."

Mild is Marshanna's preference so she tried the buffet. It's a good introduction to Indian cuisine.

After asking for some help along with way, she ended up a good sampling.

For example, spiced chickpeas in a deep fried wheat flour dough, a vegetable pancake and the recommended starter, chicken tikka masala.

Her eating partner, Larry, tried pretty much the same, except he doesn't work for meat and opted for only boneless chicken.

We also enjoyed complimentary "garlic naan" or bread and the Gulab Jamum is a sweet dessert that made Marshanna lick her spoon.

Our total for two buffets and drinks came to $23.68 plus tip.
