Here is e mail from Linda Wilson of Spring Bay. This is the bread crumb which lead me to today's eating adventure.

Good Evening Eric,

I don't know if you have tried eating at the Cracked Pepper Catering & Bakery on N.E. Adams Street yet. I discovered the bakery the second week in May. They have wonderful pastries, especially their chocolate eclairs! The eclairs and creme horns are my favorites! From 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., they have a grill set up front of the bakery. They have Italian beef, pulled pork, chicken breast, and meatball sandwiches plus a couple of different salads. Their Italian beef sandwiches are the best! The bakery won first place at the Taste of Peoria for their Italian beef sandwiches. This fall, the bakery will be serving panini sandwiches.

There are only three tables in the bakery but that doesn't stop me. I just order my sandwich and take it back to work. I am not an employee of the bakery -- just a customer who frequents the bakery at least three times a week on her way to work! Just tell them Linda sent you! By the way, my husband and I will be having sandwiches from the bakery for dinner tonight.

There was a review of the bakery in yesterday's Journal Star and an article in this month's Food and Dining Guide.

I hope that you will try the bakery for lunch some day.

Thanks Linda. We agree its good. they are doing the catering for Coyote Creek Country Club. I'm guessing the pharmaceutical representative we interviewed makes a nice salarying using this place as her business lead. What front desk office assistant doesn't like a good Basil Tomato Focaccia Bread? Ms. Martin's favorite words at work could be, " Someone get the Doctor for this nice lady! And get me a Coke!"
