I discovered this restaurant Tuesday when I was in Chenoa for a business story.
As I went around town, I asked everyone where was the best place to eat in town? The all pointed me to the restaurant by the interstate and old Route 66.
The Mayor of Chenoa said, "Try the cabbage soup on Thursdays!"
So today I did. Was not disappointed. Some in the restaurant thought the owner put Tabasco sauce in the soup to give it a special kick. Turns out it was sweet and sour sauce and lemon juice. Go figure.
The owner is Bob Gizhoski. He did not want to go on camera. Bashful. He is a partner in another restaurant south of I-55 in Springfield. Says he started in the food business in Chicago. That city knows food and flavor. So does Chenoa.
