I will always have a warm spot in my heart for Carlock. I grew up with the Schieber and Myers families and still enjoy going back. My kids attended Carlock Grade School for a while. It is cozy and quaint. And so is Sam's place. Good luck Sam. He seems right at home after four years.
A decade or so ago, just about the entire town bought stock in the restaurant to try and keep it opened. Those paper cirtificates are probably now just memories in old files.
Sam says it took two years for his wife and kids to adjust to the culture after leaving a bigger community. Now he says, they don't ever want to leave.
