I've had a couple folks tell me to try out the food at this downtown Peoria tavern.
But the deal was sealed at the Rodeo Saturday night. I was asked to help welcome the Rodeo to Peoria. As a Civic Center worker was taking me through a back hallway last weekend, Tara and her sister Tabatha were heading in the other direction with a couple cowboys. They cheerfully asked when I was coming to their restaurant. I said how 'bout this week.
And so that's how it happens. Good luck to them. They say their grandmother once owned a nightclub in Michigan. They remember her talking about it as kids and were always intrigued by the idea of owning their own place. Glad to see they care about the food. Nothing kills a good tavern quicker than bad food. Not the case at The Locker Room.
