PEORIA, Ill. -- If you've driven past a gas station lately, you have surely noticed Peoria gasoline prices edging their way upward.
Average gasoline prices in the area rose 2.4 cents per gallon in the last week, coming out to $3.78 a gallon.
GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan says the national average, however, was affected by the steep prices in California.
"The good news for Californians is to expect relief this week," said DeHaan. "Around the rest of the nation I expect a mixed bag, with prices not moving significantly in either direction from what I can see at this time."
