This week's One Class at A Time Winner is Bartonville Grade School teacher Allyson Hohstadt.

Hohstadt has plans to make sure students are productive over their summer vacations.

Good morning I'm looking for Allyson Hohstadt, you are the winner of HOI 19's One Class at A Time.

Bartonville Grade School teacher Allyson Hohstadt says even though the holidays are over she still feels like it's Christmas. Hohstadt is recipient of the HOI 19 CEFCU One class at a time winner.

"it's January, Christmas time, so summer seems really far away. I'm looking forward to getting this ready for summer, making it even better than we though it would be," said Hohstadt.

The third grade teacher plans to put the one-thousand dollars to good use.

"We would love to have a summer reading program here in Bartnoville and would love to use the money to have a program similar to Netflix where we would mail them books in the summertime so they don't have to go to the library, they'd get a book in the mail, which is exciting itself," said Hohstadt.

According to Hohstadt, this will be the first summer reading program for the school. Bartonville Grade School Literary Coach Rockell Warren Daniels submitted the application last May.

"I'm just so excited for this class, I really am. She's a very fabulous teacher so I'm really excited, she's able to get this and go forward with her Netflix book idea," said Daniels.

The staff is not the only ones excited.

"When I first saw it I was passing out papers and I was looking in and I just dropped it."

"Really cool cause I actually never thought we would actually win something."

A win with lots of educational prizes.
