EAST PEORIA, Ill -- During the summer we take the time to check in with our One Class at a Time winners.

This week we are revisiting Ms. Arnsman from Shute Elementary School.

Ms. Arnsman was nominated for the grant so she could buy an iPad for her students.

She's a speech-language pathologist at Shute Elementary, and says her preschool students usually have a hard time communicating.

With the iPad, students can now interact in ways they never could before.

"The very first day that i used it, one of my little guys who doesn't say a whole lot was actually trying to talk. That brought tears to my eyes. To see the look on a child's face the very first time you put that in front of them. It's just like wow, they're so amazed. That makes it all worth it," said Ms. Arnsman.

Ms. Arnsman said the iPad has inspired other teachers in the school to purchase them for students in their classrooms.
