Ella Maxwell from Hoerr Nursery visits to discuss the ‘climbers’ – Clematis Flowers. These twining vines need some sort of support or structure; you can use a trellis or bamboo on which to grow and they can extend to 6’. To help them grow well, prune the dead flowers which will help them flourish with many flowers. Clematis come in many different types. There are also Clematis blush flowers, which grow on the ground and don’t grow up like the vining ones. The large-flowered Clematis are the most popular. There is a new sweet, summer love Clematis with many purple flowers; it used to only come in white.
