House Plants – August 15

Ella Maxwell of Hoerr Nursery talks about properly maintaining your house plants, which may have been outside but are now on your deck. Now is a good time to check the growth of your house plants and see if they need to be re-potted. If the roots are over-grown or ‘circling’ in the current size of the pot, they will need a new pot 1-2 inches bigger. You can also utilize some water-retaining additives to help your plants in their pot. In your house plant assessment, it might be time to split a plant too and break it into two pots. Make sure your pots have appropriate drainage as well
