There is a big difference between saturated/flooded soil and soil that is naturally moist. One type of tree that thrives in swamp or heavily-wet area is a Bald Cypress or any of the Willow family. Ella Maxwell of Hoerr Nursery also says the Winter Berry Holly is an excellent shrub for wet areas, along with big-leaf Hydrangeas. There are also Perennials available for your wet areas too.
