BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- A new state requirement may have parents scrambling before the start of the school year.
According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, all students entering the 6th or 9th grades must receive a Tdap vaccination. Students will not be allowed to begin classes until documentation is submitted.
Proof of vaccination, as well as a physical examination, must be provided by the first day of the 2012-13 school year for all Bloomington District 87 students.
Please double check with your school district for deadlines to submit documentation.
For more information on the vaccine, contact your family physician or the local health department.
