Are you taking a prescription medication?

You're not alone.

A new report says nearly half of all Americans are taking a least one pill a day.

The report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention finds about 50% of Americans are on medication.

They also found that 1 in 4 children take at least one prescription drug.

And some doctors say Americans are over-medicating.

"Americans themselves are not taking ownership for their own health, so they're relying on pharmaceuticals to improve their overall outcome as opposed to lifestyle changes," Dr. Daniel Neides, Cleveland Clinic.

CDC researchers did note the prescribing of antibiotics for cold symptoms dropped nearly 40%.
