Norovirus is the number one cause of illness from contaminated food in the U.S.

That is according to a Vital Signs report from the Centers for Disease Control, released today.

It finds most norovirus outbreaks occur in restaurants or other food service settings, and is usually linked to an infected worker.

The CDC is recommending improvements in the food service industry, like requiring workers to practice good hygiene while on the job.
