Two women with incurable cervical cancer are in complete remission thanks to an experimental therapy.

The treatment involved finding patients' t-cells in their tumors, extracting them in a lab and boosting their immune response to what was driving the cancer.

The cells were then re-infused in the patients.

The tumors vanished in two of the nine patients in the study.

Doctors from the National Cancer Institute plan to try the therapy with additional women.
