BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Patients, family and staff are creating a "Wall of Hope" at the Community Cancer Center in Bloomington.

Anyone impacted by cancer has the opportunity to create their own piece of work to be added to the wall.

These works will be combined with local artists' creations to make an exhibit to bring inspiration to those who come to the center.

Cancer patient Shelly Bauer said the "Wall of Hope" does exactly what the name suggests.

"Definitely just helping out and wanting people to know that there is hope in the journey, that it isn't all negative,” Bauer said. “Some days are harder than others, but there's hope."

The Community Cancer Center wants to eventually make the "Wall of Hope" a portable exhibit for the entire community to enjoy.
