Doctors have developed a new treatment for cataracts that is unique for each patient.

Lensx, is a computer-guided laser uses 3D imaging to help doctors make precise incisions in the eye to remove cataracts.

Patients then go straight to the operating room, where doctors implant a new lens.

"Recovery is about the same but the results are better, less trauma to the eyes, less damage to the structures of the eye,” said Dr. Alberto Martinez.

The procedure is expensive. It costs about $1,000 and insurance does not cover it.
