A serious virus never before seen in the United States has been spotted in Indiana.

A man carrying Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, or MERS, traveled from London to Chicago's O'Hare Airport last week. He then took a bus to Indiana.

About half the people diagnosed with MERS have died.

Symptoms include fever, cough and shortness of breath. MERS can be passed from human to human through close contact but the CDC does not believe any of the passengers on the flight or bus are high risk for catching the virus.
