EAST PEORIA, Ill. -- Health care professionals from all over the state are converging on Central Illinois.
They are here for the quarterly 2012 Illinois Nursing Home Administrators educational seminars at the Par-a-dice Hotel.
Topics include ways to improve pain management, infection control, and preventing lawsuits.
Organizers said cuts in state funding have had an impact on the way nursing homes are managed.
"Be able to look where your budget is, what kind of things you have flexibility over," said Bob Roiland, Office Manager of the ICC Nursing Home. "You have to provide the care to the residents so you have to have the staff. And so, it's just a situation where you're trying to do a little bit more with less."
Administrators said the ultimate goal is to provide quality care to nursing home residents while meeting the needs of administrators.
