OSF Medical Group to Open In-Store Clinic at Walmart

Walmart and OSF Medical Group announced Monday Peoria's newest location for basic health care services – “The Clinic at Walmart” operated by OSF Medical Group.

This convenient care clinic will open Monday, Nov. 15, at 8 a.m. inside the Walmart located at 8915 Allen Road.

The clinic will provide convenient, affordable access to basic health care services, seven days a week, with no appointment necessary.

The walk-in health clinic is the first to be owned and operated by OSF Medical Group in a Walmart.

The clinic will be open for walk-in care Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

For busy customers who need care, especially after working hours or on weekends, the clinic will treat common health ailments and offer routine services. These include, but are not limited to, the following:

•Flu
•Blood sugar testing
•School physicals
•Sinus infections
•Ear aches
•Insect bites and stings
•Minor wounds
•Bladder infections
•Common vaccinations
•Upper respiratory infections

“By joining with Walmart to operate ‘The Clinic at Walmart,’ OSF Medical Group is improving access to health care in our community,” said Philip A. Fifield, M.D., M. Arch., F.A.A.F.P., medical director, OSF PromptCare Peoria.

“Our clinic is staffed with licensed health care providers, even on nights and weekends, so families can walk in and know they will receive quality care without a long wait," continued Fifield. "Our mission is to serve this community, and the clinic is one more way we fulfill our mission.”

In addition to the new OSF Medical Group Clinic at Walmart, the Peoria-area OSF Medical Group has more than 85 doctors and mid-level providers in 22 convenient locations throughout Peoria and many surrounding communities including Chillicothe, Roanoke, Washington, Hopedale and Morton.

This team brings together different medical disciplines to create an integrated system of comprehensive, personalized, patient-centered care.

With the opening of this clinic, there will be 98 in-store clinics in Walmart stores across 22 states.
