Every eight minutes a young child goes to the emergency room for medicine poisoning.

More than 3/4 of these ER visits are because children got into a parent's or grandparent's medicine.

The alarming statistics are in a new report from Safe Kids Worldwide.

The report says an increasing number of children are being cared for by their grandparents who are much more likely to have prescription medications in their homes.

Safe Kids Worldwide advises adults to keep medicine out of reach of children and be aware of pills stored in places like nightstands, counter tops and purses.
