Signs your child may become an overweight adult could appear as soon as kindergarten.

Researchers at Emory University analyzed data on children during the 1998-1999 school year.

Children who were overweight were four times more likely to become obese by the 8th grade as their slimmer classmates.

Experts say kindergarten may be a critical time for families and doctors to intervene.
