Sears stores throughout Illinois will open early at 7:00 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 24 for the state’s re-launch of the “Cash for Appliances” rebate program, which will last one day only.
The early opening and additional in-store staff will help residents access the $3 million in remaining rebates for ENERGY STAR® qualified appliances, available only on Friday, Sept. 24.
Illinois residents purchasing ENERGY STAR qualified appliances are eligible for instant rebates of 15 percent off certain appliances, up to $250 per appliance, at Sears.
In order to qualify, residents must provide their zip codes and are required to replace their old appliances with new ENERGY STAR qualified models.
Rebates will also be limited to one appliance category per household.·
Categories are: Clothes washers, Dishwashers, Freezers, and Refrigerators.
Sears Blue Appliance Crew™ rebate experts will also be in stores statewide to assist shoppers with the rebate process.
They will help shoppers through the entire process, including identifying which appliances qualify for the rebates, completing the necessary rebate forms and helping customers submit the rebates for purchases made at Sears before they even leave the store.
Illinois residents who replace an existing appliance with a new ENERGY STAR qualified appliance purchased on or after 8:00 a.m. on Sept. 24 are eligible to apply for the state rebates.
Rebates will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis until the funds run out, and will only be available on Friday, Sept. 24.
