"Selfies" boost requests for plastic surgery

The popularity of self portraits, or 'selfies', appears to have given the cosmetic surgery industry a boost.

A study led by the American Academy of Facial Plastic Reconstructive Surgery shows an uptick in facial procedures as a direct result of 'selfie' dissatisfaction.

One in three facial plastic surgeons said they have seen an increase in surgical requests among people wanting to improve their look on social media profiles.
