UnityPoint Health Methodist-Proctor has tips so you and your family can enjoy a safe summer.

An adult should always supervise swimming or playing outside. Life jackets should be worn in boats.

Sunscreen is also important. Don't leave young children or older people in the sun for extended periods of time.

Stay hydrated and be aware of extreme heat.

Most importantly, call 911 in case of emergency.
