We often set goals to exercise more, but sometimes have a tough time following through.

What music is the best to work out to? Why?
*London's Brunel University says the optimum workout tune has 125-140 beats per minute.
*The perfect tunes include Michael Jackson's "Beat It", Psy's "Gangman Style" and Lady Gaga's "Edge of Glory". Perhaps you should try "Chariots of Fire or Beethoven's Symphony #3 in E flat.
*The right tempo boosts our motivation and insures that we have increased exertion.
*Studies show treadmill walkers had greater stamina and require less oxygen when listening to the perfect tune. Studies showed that oxygen intake was reduced by 7-percent.
*Swimmers who listened to music during races finished faster than those who didn't (No wonder Michael Phelps always had earbuds in his ears)
*Music can be like an emotional stimulant and increase work to be work even if we listen to music prior to going to the gym
What else do we know about the benefits of music?
*Benefits seem to be more pronounced for low-to-moderate intensity workouts meaning it helps better for all of us.
*Music has also been shown to boost endurance with treadmill walkers and it was found that motivation music increased endurance over neutral music
*When people run with music they tend to feel as though they are exerting less and they tend to have less difficulty breathing and sweating.
*Music tends to also block fatigue and the sensations surrounding exertion.
So listen to that "Perfect Tune" as it tones your mind and your body.
