Methodist Medical Center:Healthwatch

The March of Dimes says Methodist Medical Center in Peoria is the first hospital in central Illinois to routinely prevent elective c-sections prior to 39 weeks gestation.
 

In 2010, fewer than 5-percent of births at Methodist were elective deliveries prior to 39 weeks. Dr. Marc Boyd is spearheading this effort. Jen Christensen talked to him about the program in this month's Healthwatch.
