PEORIA, Ill. -- IDOT crews have been working continuously since the snow began.

Crews started plowing roads Saturday night and were able to clear them faster than anticipated.

Most of the interstates were cleared by late Sunday morning.

Even though there was less snow than expected, IDOT officials said their drivers still faced challenges.

"Less snow is good, but the problem we're having here is the temperature. The temperatures have been so low that the salt just doesn't work as well," said IDOT Spokesperson Brian Williamsen.

Even though salt supplies have gotten lots of use, IDOT said there is enough to get through the rest of winter.
