THOMSON, Ill. -- Could Thomson Correctional Center finally be on the verge of opening?

If job listings are any indications, it is.

15 jobs have been posted by the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

They're listed on the federal government's job website, and include a budget and technology officer, an IT specialist, and correctional supervisors.

The prison was built in 2001, but never opened.

It was sold to the federal government which says its working to open the prison.

Right now they are waiting for funding.

But even if money is approved it will take another two years to fully activate the prison.
