PEORIA, Ill. – The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall notice for some artificial Christmas trees.

The recall includes Seasoned Specialties (Enchanted Forrest brand), 7 ½ feet tall artificial pine Christmas tree with champagne colored LED pre-lit twinkling lights.

The product was sold exclusively at Menards from September2013 through November 2013 for approximately $300.

The recalled model number is 287-1261 and UPC code is 741895425478.

The trees are being recalled because the light strings can overheat and melt presenting fire, burn and shock hazards to users.

According to the CPSC, two known incidents have occurred in which the product’s electrical components overheated, melted and emitted smoke. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers should unplug the device and stop using immediately. For additional information consumers can call Seasonal Specialties at (800) 353-3116.
