Authorities looking for suspect in hit-and-run

HUDSON, Ill. -- Authorities are asking the public for information that leads to the arrest of a suspect in a hit-and-run.

On March 29 at approximately 3:15 p.m., police responded to a hit-and-run accident on PJ Keller Highway in rural Hudson.

A 21-year-old bicyclist was struck from behind by a pickup truck. The driver of the truck stopped and exited his vehicle. He spoke to the bicyclist before returning to his truck and fleeing the scene Eastbound.

The truck is described as a dark blue late model Dodge Ram extended cab. The driver of the truck was described as a white male, approximately 25-30 years of age, average height and medium build.

Witnesses added that a female passenger was present in the truck, but never exited the vehicle.

Authorities say that the bicyclist was injured, but it is unknown how serious those injuries are.
