PEORIA, Ill. -- Avanti's is partnering with Bradley University to support students who are interning for the Winter Olympics.
Sixteen Bradley students have secured internships with NBC for the XXII Olympic Winter Games that will take place in Sochi, Russia in February.
They will have responsibilities ranging from front-line tasks in Sochi to behind-the-scenes production jobs in Stamford, Connecticut.
The interns are raising money to help pay their expenses. A fundraiser will take place at Avanti’s at University and Main in Peoria on December 5.
To participate, present a voucher and Avanti’s will donate 20% of each purchase to support the students.
Vouchers can be obtained on the Slane College of Communications and Fine Arts Facebook page, Bradley's Facebook page and from students and faculty in the Slane College.
This is the second time Bradley students have been selected by NBC to intern at the Olympic Games. Ten worked with NBC for the 2012 Summer Games in London.
