Bartonville meth bust on New Year's Eve

BARTONVILLE, Ill. -- A meth bust in Peoria County, four people arrested for production and distribution.

On New Year's Eve, police saw a man with a backpack leaving a home at 113 Roosevelt Avenue in Bartonville.

The man tried to get rid of the bag, which contained items use to manufacture methamphetamine.

Officers then obtained a search warrant for the home and found various drugs, along with meth-making ingredients, and hypodermic syringes.

Three of the home's residents and another man were arrested. They are Robert Searle, 32, Michael Harris, 28, Jacob Schmidt, 26, Mellissa Cromie, 23.

A fourth resident of the home was taken to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center and awaits charges.

Searle is being held at the Peoria County Jail on $20,000 bond. Harris is being held on $15,000 bond. Both are next scheduled to appear on January 23.
