GOODFIELD, Ill -- Just off the Goodfield exit on I-74, Busy Corner has been attracting interstate commuters for more than seven years.

Owner Randy Selvey says, "We are a small -town community, but we do try to attract people from Bloomington, Peoria, Morton, Washington, and Eureka."

As well-received as their breakfast is, Busy Corner is perhaps known by local communities even more for their pie.

"That's by far our number one,” according to Selvey. “We have probably at least eight different pie cooks that make pies for us. They get here at 3:30 in the morning and start making pies."

Doug Smith and I dove into our breakfasts before checking the pie selection.

Doug had the steak and eggs with a 4-ounce rib eye and hash browns.

He said it was very good, and he can tell the food here is home-made.

Still not sick of ham and hollandaise sauce after Easter, I had the Eggs Benedict.

It's one of the largest and most delicious helpings of the dish I have ever had, but I'm really excited to tell you about the pie.

I had Peanut Butter Bliss, which is an appropriate name.

The chocolate crust makes the whipped peanut butter filling taste partially like a peanut butter cookie and partially like French silk.

The helping was huge, and I will certainly be back for more.

Doug had the classic Coconut Cream, and he was too busy smiling about it to give an actual review.

Our bill with two drinks came to $27.20 plus tip, which I did leave even though I looked like a Reservoir Dog in my black suit and tie.

Busy Corner opens at 5:30 AM Monday through Friday, 6 AM on Saturdays and 7 AM on Sundays.

They do serve breakfast all day if you're craving it.
