Blagojevich submits additional appeal for overturning conviction

CHICAGO -- Lawyers for former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich have submitted an additional argument on why an appeals court should overturn his convictions.

According to the Associated Press, today's filing refers to an April Supreme Court decision striking down laws that restrict limits on campaign contributions.

Blagojevich is serving a 14-year prison sentence on corruption charges -- including the charge he attempted to swap an appointment to President Barack Obama's old Senate seat for campaign money or a job.
