NORMAL, Ill -- Detectives from the Normal Police Department announced Thursday that they have arrested an individual in connection with last month's shooting at Normal Community High School.
According to Assistant McLean County State's Attorney Bill Workman, Rodney E. Kinder, 43, of Bloomington, was arrested Wednesday on two charges of Unlawful Delivery of a Firearm and faces up to seven years in prison.
Workman said in court that the first charge was incurred from Kinder allegedly bought the juvenile suspect a .22 caliber handgun for Christmas last year. The gun was small enough to be concealed, which allowed the suspect to get the weapon into NCHS.
Since the juvenile suspect is too young to possess a valid FOID card, Kinder was hit with an additional Unlawful Delivery of a Firearm Charge.
Kinder is currently being held at the McLean County Jail. It is not being revealed what Kinder's relationship with the suspect is.
