PEORIA, Ill. -- We are just two weeks away from the start of the Winter Olympic games in Sochi, Russia and the threat of a terror attack still remains high.

But security is the last thing on the minds of the NBC Olympic interns at Bradley University.

NBC hand selected 18 Bradley students to work behind the scenes of the Olympics. Twelve students will work alongside professionals at NBC headquarters in Connecticut, six will fly to Sochi.

"I'm going to Russia to be an intern for NBC. I've been excited since day one, ever since the interview process so everything that's going on over there...of course it's there, of course it's going on, but it's not something I'm thinking about. I'm excited all the way," said Bradley Senior Lee Pikelny.

"My mom is worried, but I'm more excited than anything," said Bradley Senior Jake Hermann. "I'm just ready to go on and get over there."

Those six interns will leave for Sochi by the end of next week.

We will have more on how this internship paints a bright future for one student Tuesday on News 25 at 6.
